Send money from Suriname to your family & friends
To send money, you must visit one of our Western Union units/locations during working days and hours. Our front line associates (FLA) are ready to be at your service.
The process for sending money:
- Come by at one of our IMT/WU locations and register at the front desk.
- Indicate that you wish to send money.
- Hand over a valid identification. (for citizens: E-ID/ E-driver license / Passport | for non-citizens: Passport)
- Indicate the amount and the country where it should be sent.
- The front line associate (FLA) will indicate the fees for sending that amount.
- Upon approval, you hand over the funds and other documents that are relevant to the sending of funds to the front line associate (FLA).
- Relevant information is requested by the front line associate in order to process the transfer in the system; these are displayed on a ‘Digital Signature Pad’ (DSP).
- After confirmation via the DSP, the front line associate (FLA) gives approval in the system for printing of the receipt, which you must sign.
- After signing, a copy of the receipt will be printed for you, with the MTCN number on it. The recipient can receive the funds base of this MTCN number.
